Things to Know

Clothing / Items to Bring

Children learn best through hands-on play, so we encourage clothes that can get messy and ask that an extra set always be kept in their cubby. We provide cozy rest time essentials, but your child is welcome to bring their own blanket or pillow—just be sure it goes home weekly for washing. To keep our focus on learning and play, we ask that toys stay at home.

Field Trips

We do have field trips throughout the year and information on these will be available for parents on the website and in the lobby. We rent a school bus for field trips, and we do need parents to provide car seats for children for these events. We follow the ODOT regulations and the CCD Rulebook for transportation with children. We always carry a phone and emergency kit bag with us on all field trips. Parents are highly encouraged to join their children on any field trips that we take.

Meals and Snacks

The center will provide two nutritious snacks for your child throughout the day that meets the USDA food guidelines. There will always be an updated food menu that will be posted online and on our lobby bulletin board. Please pack your child a healthy lunch and make sure to include an icepack for cold items. Lunches will be kept in their cubbies. If you are interested in a provided school lunch (Preschool age only), the cost is $5.00 per day and you can request this through the director.

Birthdays and Holidays

We honor the diverse backgrounds of all our families by creating inclusive celebrations that help every child feel a sense of belonging. Rather than observing traditional holidays or birthdays, we focus on special days that reflect shared values—like recognizing inspiring changemakers such as Martin Luther King Jr. Together, we create meaningful experiences that unite and uplift our community.

Medications

Medication safety is our priority.
If your child needs medication during the day—prescription or over-the-counter—please provide it in the original container with clear dosage instructions. An authorization form must be completed by a parent or guardian. Medications are stored securely, and only authorized staff administer them, documenting each dose for your records.

Family Participation

Our teachers and staff are dedicated to creating a caring, inclusive environment where your involvement is always welcomed and encouraged. Whether you're visiting the classroom, joining an activity, or helping from home, your participation matters. From orientation visits to everyday interactions, we invite you to be a part of your child’s learning journey in whatever way works best for you.
